As a qualified beauty therapist, you may wonder if it's necessary to have insurance for your beauty therapies or training services. While you undoubtedly have high professional standards, unforeseen events can occur, and the public's tendency to take legal action against professionals is on the rise. This trend is fuelled by the no win, no fee culture that currently exists. Insurance claims made against therapists have increased, and even minor damages can result in significant financial losses. To protect yourself and your clients, we strongly recommend that you always obtain insurance coverage.

​Do I need to be a member of IPHM to obtain insurance? You do not need to be a registered member of IPHM to request insurance and you may contact them directly below. However members of IPHM do have the benefit of obtaining a discount on their insurance quote and will have a number of insurance providers to choose from.  Members will have access to a private members area and can then obtain insurance with discounts. 

​I have qualified taking a distance learning course,  can I still join IPHM and will I still be able to obtain insurance cover? - Yes you can still join IPHM, however depending on the actual course you have taken will depend on your ability to obtain insurance. Some insurance providers may insist on showing that you have undertaken courses face to face. 

Can I get insurance cover outside of the UK - For members of IPHM then the answer is yes  - Our recommended providers cover members in the UK, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand & most of Europe. You have the freedom to choose any insurance provider that best suits your needs. Showing them you are a registered member of IPHM will usually result in them being happy to offer this but IPHM make no guarantees.  While we can't always recommend specific insurance providers, we encourage you to research options in your area. If you find a company you're satisfied with, please let us know. We'd be happy to consider listing them as a resource for other professionals.
