How long have they been in the industry? Gaining sufficient training is crucial for you to feel at ease while performing treatments on your clients. It involves learning the correct techniques and understanding how to handle issues that you may encounter regularly. So you need to make sure your chosen training provider has the experience and qualifications to help you achieve this.
Are the courses they offer accredited? It is crucial to ensure that your training provider is fully accredited. We have seen instances where recently qualified therapists have approached us with qualifications that are not fully accredited, leading to disappointment when we cannot accept them as IPHM members. It is therefore recommended that you verify the accreditation status of your course before enrolling to avoid such situations.
Do they have positive reviews? This might be an obvious one but do check their reviews if they have any - which they should! You want to see lots of happy and successful students.
How large are class sizes? If the class sizes are too big then you may not get the best level of training. But also think about whether you’d prefer a 1-2-1 training course or a workshop based one with other students, both have their advantages.
Does the course come with a kit included? Some courses include a kit and others don’t, so always check this, as it could be an extra cost you need to factor in after the course.
Do they provide ongoing support? As a newly qualified therapist you may have some questions or need some advice after your course.
